Kate's dream boyfriend has just broken up with her and she's still reeling from her diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. Aidan planned on being a lifer in the army and went to Afghanistan straight out of high school. Now he's a disabled young veteran struggling to embrace his new life. When Kate and Aidan find each other neither one wants to get attached. But could they be right for each other after all?

I primarily chose this book because I really liked the cover; it's such a cute cover. The premise of the book sounded interesting too so I requested it. Now after having read the story I have mixed feelings about this story. There were definitely parts that I liked, but there were a few things that threw me off kilter. I am going to shake things up a little bit, I normally start with the positive and then move on the the things I didn't quite like but lets start with the negative and end on a positive note.

The first scene of the book was a little trying for me as was the Kate. I almost put the book down because I couldn't stand some of Kate’s internal monologue and the first scene and the way she acted afterwards was just pathetic. I felt that the story needed to be edited better. For example one of the main characters name is Aiden or is it Aidan, the story has it both ways. So now that I have gotten that off of my chest. I thought the story was ok, there were several aspect of it that I liked.

I like several aspects of Kate and Aiden’s relationship. I liked the fact that although Kate took his disability in consideration it didn't stop her from liking him or seeing him as attractive. I also like that towards the end they both took time to get themselves back on the right road and didn't depend on each other to do so. The way the novel gave the reader an inside look at what young people dealing with disabilities or diseases go through for me was refreshing. I did however feel that the book ended a little abruptly and could have used one more chapter, or an epilogue to give it more closure. Like I said before I feel this story was ok, it was just missing something for me.
