On Our Nightstand (#10)

On Our Nightstand is where we show the state of disarray our nightstand look holding all the books we are currently reading.

Morning lovelies,

My nightstand has been looking the same for the past few weeks.
With the December holidays, I stopped reading since I had family in town. Then I started grad school in January so I haven't picked up any book. I'm almost halfway through Hunted by Meagan Spooner so I'll try to tackle that one first. Then, I'll try to start over with Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas since I started it ages ago. The same will be done with I'd Tell You I Love, But Then I'll Have to Kill You by Ally Carter. I've already read On Broken Wings by Chanel Cleeton and Hard Hitter by Sarina Bowen but I haven't put them in my book boxes yet.

My goal will be to get rid of these books on my nightstand soon because I'm a little tired of seeing these same unread books staring at me and at my failure to read them.

Whose else's nightstand are filled with unread books? Anybody is tackling them? Let me know!

Our Monthly Wrap-Up (#10)

Hi Lovelies,

For the month of December I read:
DUST TO DUST by Tami Hoag
THE HATE U GIVE by Angie Thomas
HARD HITTER by Sarina Bowen
SWEET LITTLE LIES by Jill Shalvis
I'm currently reading:
HUNTED by Meagan Spooner
I'D TELL I LOVE YOU, BUT THEN I'D HAVE TO KILL YOU by Ally Carter
EMPIRE OF STORMS by Sarah J. Maas

  • I'm still in season 6 of Supernatural. I've been busy doing some personal life stuff and have had to put my beloved brothers on hold.

That's it for this month! I feel like it's busy around these parts. How was your December? Anything good or interesting or even bad? Tell me what happened!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and I'll see you guys in the new year!

Morning Friends,

My nightstand for this month looks like this:
I am currently reading Hard Hitter by Sarina Bowen, I got in the mail On Broken Wings by Chanel Cleeton (there's a giveaway currently going!), I borrowed from the library Prior Bad Acts by Tami Hoag, and I'm still reading I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter and Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas.

I should really finish the Ally Carter and Sarah Maas books and I will! But not by the end of this year, unfortunately.

Nahomi's nightstand:
Nahomi is currently reading, as an audiobook, Mindy Kaling's Why Not Me?

Our Monthly Wrap-Up (#9)

Morning Lovelies,

This month started off strong but then it just went to the wayside. I'm totally blaming the US disastrous election for my lack of reviews and features. I've been so upset and consumed and also dealing with life that I've kind of just been hibernating. I have been binging on a new show on Netflix and I've picked up a book from the library from an author I used to read before blogging, Tami Hoag. So there's been some reading at least.

In November I read:
ON BROKEN WINGS by Chanel Cleeton
ASHES TO ASHES by Tami Hoag
Queue up on my phone/iPad/laptop:

I started watching Supernatural and I'm HOOKED! I just started season 6 and since I'm so behind, season 12 is on right now, I'm being very careful in trying not to spoil myself.

I watched the Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and you can read about my thoughts on the discussion post I wrote here.
Source
I recently discovered the band Anthem Lights and their covers of the Backstreet Boys, Justin Timberlake, and Bruno Mars just to name a few, and I'm in love. I have them playing over and over as I type up this post, my job applications, my thoughts. Everything. Eventually, I'll listen to their original singles.

So, how was your November? What did you read? Watch any new show, listen to anything new or old? What did you think of the Gilmore Girls revival? And are you a Supernatural fan? Tell me what you did! Just as long as you don't give me any spoiler from Supernatural! See you down below.

On Our Nightstand (#8)

Morning Swooners,

Nahomi's nightstand is one hot mess. It filled with books that her kindergartener is currently reading.

On Our Nightstand is where we show the state of disarray our nightstand look holding all the books we are currently reading.

One night, I was halfway through a book when I knew I was going to finish it right then and there. So, before snuggling in for the night, I went ahead and grabbed my next TBR book and put it on my nightstand just so I didn't have to get up and get it. I looked at my nightstand, which is just stack of pretty boxes, and had an idea. After talking about this with Nahomi, we're going to be sharing, occasionally, how the towering books on our nightstands look with our readers.

On my nightstand, I have The Great Hunt by Wendy Higgins (which I'm currently reading), Unspeakable by Laura Griffin (I hope to read next), and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling (which I'm reading with my husband).

On Nahomi's nightstand, she has Faking It by Cora Carmack (which she hopes to be starting soon) and her daughter's bedtime books.

My nightstand is holding my current read and my iPad. I'm currently reading, for the second time,  A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas and on my iPad I'm reading Succubus on Top by Richelle Mead.

On Nahomi's nightstand, she has Wicked Sexy Liar by Christina Lauren. Most of her reading these days are done on her phone.

My nightstand have been looking like this for the past few weeks. Same books and (different) water bottles. Taking my sweet time reading and not rushing it.

I'm currently reading The Epidemic by Suzanne Young, Tempting Her Fake Fiance by Julie Patricka on my iPad/phone, and I'm listening to the audiobook of Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren on my phone Overdrive account.

Rowling is still sitting there gathering dust as my husband and I don't continue reading it. I might just read myself and forget about him.

Nahomi's nightstand is looking a little scary these days but since she's been listening to audiobooks lately we are spared her mess and get a look at her Overdrive account:

(Let's not mention how her low battery life is giving me a twitch.)

Nahomi is driving up Orlando today and we get to see each other(!) and hang out and talk blog stuff, as well as books and life stuff. But the reason she is doing the three-and-a-half hours drive to see me is not necessarily for us to hang out. We got tickets to see Janet Evanovich in Kissimmee for the release of her newest Stephanie Plum book, Tricky Twenty-Two, on Saturday November 14th. Also, Richelle Mead will be in our local indie bookstore Books and Books promoting her latest book, Soundless. Lots of bookish stuff happening this weekend!

With that in mind, it no wonder why our shelves are filled with books, preparing for this weekend.

Nahomi's nightstand:

Nahomi just finished Smart Girl by Rachel Hollis (not pictured), is starting Soundless by Richelle Mead, and is re-reading part of Finger-Lickin' Fifteen by Janet Evanovich.

This time, its my nightstand that looks scary.

Nahomi:
Nahomi is currently reading One Life by A.J. Pine on her phone (not pictured), she is going to start Soundless by Richelle Mead, and is reading all the books with her four-year old.

(Nahomi's nightstand truly does scares me, though. It makes me nervous.)

Currently Reading (#13)

Hiya Swooners,

So I've been in a weird reading slump. I have so many books on my reading queue but when I start them, I'm not really in the mood to read them. So I start a completely new book that I wasn't even supposed to start causing me to get behind on my reading. And it not like I have plenty of reading time as it is. I've been having a bit of a social life lately and I haven't been able to figure out how to balance out my blogging and reading with my personal life.

So, at the moment I am currently reading 3 books: Taken by Erin Bowman, The Dead and Buried by Kim Harrington, and Spellbinding by Maya Gold. I'm not sure when I'll be done with them but I have hope to have a review up and going by Monday for April 1st for Spellbinding since that is it's release day.

I hope everyone has a nice Tuesday!

Currently Reading - Covet by Melissa Darnell

Hi lovelies.

I hope everyone is having a nice Sunday. I'm sharing with you what I'm currently reading. Covet (The Clann #2) by Melissa Darnell is the book that's holding my attention. I managed to get an early egalley from Harlequin Teen through NetGalley. So far, I'm enjoying it and even managed to shed a few tears. I can't wait to keep on reading and then share my thoughts on it.

Happy Sunday!

Currently Reading - Frozen by Mary Casanova

Morning Swooners,

It Wednesday and we're one day closer to the weekend. That's always makes me happy. I wanted to share that I'm currently reading Frozen by Mary Casanova and Inbetween by Tara A. Fuller. I was approved through NetGalley for Frozen and it was released this past Saturday, September 1st. Inbetween  was release a week ago and I've been anticipating its release and so I bought my own ebook! I can't wait to read and share my thoughts on both of these books. Have a great day!
