Initially, I was really excited about reading this book. The first chapter hooked me and I proceeded onwards. However, I quickly realized that what I had liked about the first chapter and what had initially called me from the synopsis, the reality was taking a completely different turn. After the first chapter, I realized that the book was taking a turn I didn't really like. And to be honest, it even seemed weird that our heroine was going down that road. I didn't even know what to think of the hero. Or heroes, in this case, again, I'm not exactly sure. Very quickly, I decided that I didn't want to continue with the book, and gave up on it. I have more books to read anyways. Maybe it's a better book for someone else.

I was super excited about starting this book. The premise sounded like it would be a sweet and funny book where I could just breeze through it. However, I ended up having a huge dislike towards the heroine, Rochelle. I thought she was crazy throughout the book. She didn't need to act the way she did even if the bachelor was her ex-boyfriend from college who broke her heart. I understand she wanted to get voted off but the way she acted wasn't funny, which is what I'm guessing the author was trying to portray. It was just horrendous to read because her antics were over the top and unnecessary. Especially, for a woman on a mission to get the prized money and donate it to her favorite charity. She's supposed to be a lawyer, for godsakes. She can act professionally and still try to get voted off. I feel like her being a lawyer was only because she likes to argue and is very stubborn.

Her actions towards Grant, our bachelor, I never fully understood. She didn't fully trust him, which I get but why would she say she forgives him and then run like hell from him when one of the other contestants throws everyone for the loop with her explosive "confession"? I don't understand how she didn't pick up on how it seemed awfully convenient what this particular contestant was saying at that particular time.

This book left a lot to be desired. In theory, the premise of this book would have been right up alley, but unfortunately, it fell flat.

I was not prepared for Get a Clue. I thought I was getting some of Jill Shalvis’ hero who knows when to be sweet and charming and when to be demanding what-I-say-goes alpha male. I was expecting a relatable, slightly awkward, strong, girl next door type heroines, with some loveable side characters, some hot sexy times and an interesting plot. Instead, what I got was neurotic heroine whom I wanted to give a chill pill to, some kooky side characters, an all over the place plot, and a hot alpha male. I finished this book by pure determination and by lots of skimming. I think I mostly finished just because I wanted to know how it ended, yes I have masochistic tendencies apparently, and because the hero was the only person I truly care for as well as for the journal entries at the beginning of each chapter.

Our heroine, Breanne, is a tad too high strung for me. She jumps at any little noise all the while she talks she is this independent city girl who can take care of herself because she can take on the city by herself. Look, I get it, she in the woods, in a place where she doesn’t know anyone so she's scared. This city girl (me) who has never gone camping would be scared out of my mind just like Breanne. But good grief, she took everything to an extreme and I spent more time just rolling my at her antics.

I’m so surprised that this is an actual work by Shalvis. If I had read this before reading her newer work, I probably wouldn’t have read anything else by her. She has come a long way from her early work. If you want to read a Shalvis book, I’d recommend that you start with her Lucky Harbor or Animal Magnetism series instead of this standalone.

**This is a DID NOT FINISH review. I only read up to page 85 so these are my thoughts up to this point.**

I had high hopes for this book. I was looking forward to it but after suffering through a few chapters, I just didn't like it.  I couldn't connect to any of the characters and actually found them to be a bit irritating. Alice is supposed to be a quirky character but, again, it ended up showing up as irritating. Another unfortunate moment right before I called it quits, was when I saw the hint of instalove. Since I didn't read all that much, I can't confirm it, but I did see it happening.

It disappointing that I didn't end up liking the book considering that it supposed to take place as both Alice and Elliot travel Europe in a cruise. Ah such a missed connection.

I was really excited about starting this book. I read the synopsis and I was really happy when I was approved for this title on NetGalley but unfortunately, I just couldn't click with it.

I had a hard time clicking with the main character, Jess, and there were so many occasion where I found myself rolling my eyes at her internal thoughts. I also could not see her fascination with trying to find out whether her cousin's death was accidental or not. I just didn't feel that connection that Jess feels towards Freya and just had to stop. I found myself skimming a lot and I realized early on, that I just couldn't find myself to become invested in story. It was at that point that I decided to just give up on the story.

Maybe it was just me but I was disappointed that this book was a let down. Hopefully there are some other readers out there that enjoys it a lot more than I did.

I am so disappointed that I wasn't able to get into Seeker, it sounded so good. I was really excited about getting into a new series full of action and mystery, but it just wasn't meant to be. I got 31% in and I couldn't continue reading for a couple of reasons. The concept is good but as I started reading my initial issue was with the narration. I've read books in third person and sometimes I have issues getting into them but if I'm hooked on the story then I can get over the narration issues. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. I found the narration to be confusing, making it hard to follow the story.

The main reason I couldn't continue reading is that even at 31% into the book I wasn't invested in the story. I wasn't connecting with any of the characters. Even after the initial revelation of what was actually happening in the story, I lost interest in what was happening. I tried several times to continue reading but I just couldn't get through it.

Initially the concept for this book sounded great, and it's still a great concept but I just couldn't get into how it was executed in this book. This novel has a strong female character which I love but her voice sounded too formal; which made is hard for me to connect with her. The dialogue and Gail's inner monologue annoyed me to the point that I decided to stop reading this novel. There were certain phrases which had me rolling my eyes, or I would have to step away from the story and rant to my friends to see if it was just me. Like I said before I really like the concept and that the protagonist is a strong educated female character but I just couldn't get past the dialogue issue.

**This is a Did Not Finish review. I didn't read the whole book, I only got until page 100. The following are my thoughts on what I did read.**

       Jenn gave me the opportunity to read this book, and after reading the summary I decided to give it a chance. It sounded really interesting, and at the time I was in much need of a change in genres. I was sorely disappointed with the main character and her internal monologue. There are certain things that I can look over depending on the situation of the main character; But I just couldn't deal with Kasie's inability to grow a pair of balls and end things with her fiancee. 

Some of the descriptions Kasie uses like comparing her boyfriend to a baked potato, (I get it was suppose to be in a good way) because baked potatoes are comfort food. Don't get me wrong I love baked potatoes, but not when used to describe ones "significant" other. I felt the imagery was all off, it was distracting. The final nail in the coffin for me was when her boyfriend proposed officially and she still accepted after everything she'd done. Even knowing that he wasn't right for her, she still said yes! After that I couldn't keep reading I was so upset at Kasie. 

I will however praise the author for writing some of the hottest sexy scenes I have ever read. That first scene when Kasie is in the hotel with the "stranger" is oh so HOTT. I had to think of dirty diapers, and all things sad or gross to get my "need" under control again. This book was definitely not my cup of tea.

**This is a Did Not Finish review. I didn't read the whole book, I only got until page 124. The following are my thoughts on what I did read.**

        I borrowed a couple of books from Jenn to review and upon reading the synopsis, I thought this would be more up my alley. I love a good mystery and I'm usually so impatient to find out what happens, that I normally finish fairly quickly. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case with this book. I've been struggling to get through it for a couple of weeks until I gave up last Wednesday when I hit, what seem to me, another long flashback over filled with needless details. I had reached my limit and decided I couldn't keep reading.

I normally love books with details and flashback but this story has an overabundance of mindless details which distracted me from the actual story. While reading, I found myself drifting off and all the details stopped me from imagining the scene. The flashbacks are full of these details and although, I can see why she is trying to do this, it isn't done very well. There are plot twist within the first 50 pages, which I wasn't expecting but it wasn't enough to hook me. I never felt that sense of urgency from the characters because of what was happening. In the end I wasn't even a little curious to find out what happened to the twins.

Bottom line: Every time I thought, "Ok, I can get through this." another mind numbing flashback would come, or the character would start describing everything down to the last little detail and I would have to put the book down. This book wasn't my cup of tea and it just my opinion of it, but you're more than welcome to give it a try.

Unfortunately, this is a DNF review. I tried and tried to get into this book but I just couldn't. The premise of the story really intrigued me especially after reading Speechless by Hannah Harrington last year. It reminded me a little bit of it and so I was excited when Gallery Books approved me on NetGalley.

First off, the galley was filled with errors which made the reading experience a little bit more difficult. I could live with that if only the female protagonist wasn't such, excuse me for the word, a bitch. Angie was Lizzie best friend and she was one of the people that ostracized Lizzie. Now, with Lizzie dead, she finds out that someone is posting Lizze’s diary around school. Angie decides that she needs to find out who it is and goes on a hunt.

She acts all self-righteous when confronting people, as if she were any better than them. After a while I became so angry at Angie that I decided I just couldn't continue reading anymore. Unfortunately, I don’t see myself picking up a finished copy and finishing this book.

After reading the summary of Spellbinding, I was really excited about starting this book. It sounds like it would be full of adventures with some romance thrown in; I love those kind of books. However, after a slow beginning, I realize that this may not be the book for me. This book really dragged for me. I tried to get in the right mindset for it but I just couldn't get there.

My biggest issue is with Abby, the protagonist. At first, I thought that she was way too dense. She could not or would not see things that were happening right in front of her until the last moment. She would have these “aha!” moments but I believe that the reader had already seen what was happening. Also, Abby kept giving a whiplash with how fast she would change her mind. With both boys and with her dad’s new girlfriend, she couldn't make up her mind and honestly, it drove me insane.

Another issue I had was with the storyline and that I felt that it moved much too quickly. Yes, I was bored and I had been reading this galley forever and I couldn't wait to be finished, but the storyline moved much too quickly for it to be believable. When she found out she was a witch and couldn't believe it then a couple of paragraphs later she was decided that it made sense since she was always a little bit strange. Also, how quickly she started doing magic on her own. With one little book of spells and she was set. And the whole insta-love with Rem just didn't work for me. I know they had their “history” but it just wasn't believable.

Thankfully, I’m glad that I didn't waste my money on this book but I am frustrated that I spent time reading this book.

I was given a chance by Atria Books (an imprint of Simon & Schuster) to read an egalley of Love Unscripted after I requested a copy on NetGalley. I had read the synopsis of the book and I loved it. Actor/musician falling for a regular person love story just fascinates me. However, I just couldn't finish this book. I had to give up on it.

I felt like we were told so many insignificant information about everything that it drags the story down and makes it longer than it needs to be. I also didn't end up caring very much for Taryn and Ryan and found them  to be very tedious and boring.

I tried to continue reading but I just had to give up. Especially after trying to read it for a month and a half and only reaching 200 pages, which was only 17% of the book. I also managed to read five other books in between reading this one. I basically wanted to read and do everything else but read about Taryn and Ryan's Love Unscripted.

Let me start off with the fact that I have heard mixed reviews on this book but my curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to try and judge for myself.

It was just a hot mess. Abby is the good girl, Travis is the bad boy and it was just too predictable, cliche and cheesy at time and it had no redeeming parts for me.
