“I was starting to see that this wasn't just sex, and it wasn't something just working out of my system. Sex was just the fastest route to the deeper possession that I needed. I was falling in love with her, and falling too fast and hard to easily find any footing.” - Christina Lauren, Beautiful Bastard

“I told you, I want more than this. I want to be with you. I want to be your lover." I swore, digging my hands into my hair. "I'm falling for you, Chloe.” - Christina Lauren, Beautiful Bastard

Hi Friends,

For this month Swoony Boy of the Month, we have Levi from Better off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg. When I first read this book back in 2014, I fell in love with it and I've been telling people to read this ever since. So I want to introduce you to Levi, here we go.

“But in truth, home isn't necessarily where you sleep at night. It's where you feel like yourself. Where you're most comfortable. Where you don't have to pretend, where you can be just you.” ― Elizabeth Eulberg, Better off Friends

“This entire time I'd been thinking about where my home was. At first it was California, then Wisconsin. But in truth, home isn't necessarily where you sleep at night.
It's where you feel like yourself.
Where you're most comfortable.
Where you don't have to pretend, where you can just be you.
I had finally reached that place because Macallan is home to me.” ― Elizabeth Eulberg, Better off Friends

SA-WOOOOONS! I love Levi and how he just GETS Macallan. I think it's time for a reread for me.

Have you read this book? You better have and if not, GO. RUN. NOW.

4 stars out of 5 stars

Listening to the audiobook of one of my favorite YA contemporary novels was going back and falling in love with characters that I know so well. The narrator for this book bought the character alive and made me feel like I was reading Perkins' book was for the first time. I fell in love with the setting and characters and it gave me the wanderlust to visit Paris. Wonderful narration of an already beautiful story.

If you already read and loved this book in it's print version, you will love the audiobook. And if you haven't already read this book, go read/listen to it!

Swoony Boy of the Month: Perry from Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

Swoony Boy of the Month is our feature where we spotlight a favorite and/or swoony boy from the books we have read.

Today's Swoony Boy of the Month is Peregrine aka Perry. Perry is a rebel with heightened senses! He is definitely rough on the outside but also sweet and tender on the inside. Perry makes my heart melt over and over again!

“What I was trying to say,” he whispered, “is that I see you in everything. There isn’t a word for you that means enough, because you’re everything to me.”
~Veronica Rossi, Into the Still Blue

“Come back with me, Aria. Be with me.”

~Veronica Rossi, Through the Ever Night

“She'd been right. It had been easier with her. Perry placed his right hand on hers.
"Are you all right?" he whispered. It wasn't what he wanted to know. Of course she wasn't all right. What he wanted to know was if the together part still mattered to her. Because even though he was confused and sorry and angry, it still mattered to him.
She looked up and nodded, and he knew she agreed. Whatever else came, they'd face it together.”

~Veronica Rossi, Under the Never Sky

“It's not far. Another week. Doesn't matter. I'll get you better shoes this time. And I'll carry your rocks for you. I'll even answer your question.”

~Veronica Rossi, Under the Never Sky

“I've been watching you and Roar. Wanting it to be me training with you." His shoulders came up. "I don't want to do it now."
"Why?" Aria's voice was high and thin.
He smiled, a flash of shyness, before he leaned close. "There are other things I'd rather do when I'm alone with you.”

~Veronica Rossi, Under the Never Sky

Swoony Boy of the Month: Warner from Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Swoony Boy of the Month is our feature where we spotlight a favorite and/or swoony boy from the books we have read.

Today's Swoony Boy of the Month is Warner aka the bad boy everyone loves to hate but can't help swoon over. Warner is the ruthless, brutally honest and meticulously organized antagonist of Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me series. It's in his honesty and willingness to love Juliette as she is that we get to know the softer side of Warner. He is poetic and has a way with words that melts my heart!

I almost forget that she still hates me, despite how hard I've fallen for her.
And I've fallen.
So hard.
I've hit the ground.
Tahereh Mafi, Destroy Me
Because I want her.
Now.
Here.
Everywhere.
I want nothing between us.
I want her clothes off and the lights on and I want to study her. I want to unzip her out of this dress and take my time with every inch of her.
Tahereh Mafi, Destroy Me
I want to convince you to design a smile just for me.
Tahereh Mafi, Unravel Me
I'm trying to focus, telling myself these are just empty words, but I'm lying. Because somehow, just reading these words is too much; and the thought of her in pain is causing me an unbearable amount of agony.
Tahereh Mafi, Destroy Me
I want to be the friend you fall hopelessly in love with. The one you take into your arms and into your bed and into the private world you keep trapped in your head. I want to be that kind of friend," he says. "The one who will memorise the things you say as well as the shape of your lips when you say them. I want to know every curve, every freckle, every shiver of your body, Juliette-

Swoony Boy of the Month: Rowan Whitehorn from Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Swoony Boy of the Month is our feature where we spotlight a favorite and/or swoony boy from the books we have read.

Hello October, I can't believe this year is going by so fast! We are currently swooning over Rowan Whitehorn from the Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas. This Fae Prince warrior slowly wormed his way into our hearts. He is not one for many words but when he does speak Holy Cannoli I get weak in the knees.

“I kept thinking about how you might never know that I missed you with only
an ocean between us. But if it was death separating us … I would find you. I don’t care how many
rules it would break. Even if I had to get all three keys myself and open a gate, I would find you
again. Always.”

“I claim you, Aelin. To whatever end.”

Source

“Tell me that even if I lead us all to ruin, we’ll burn in hell together.'

'We’re not going to hell, Aelin,' he said. 'But wherever we go, we’ll go together.”

“I spent centuries wandering the world, from empires to kingdoms to wastelands, never settling, never stopping—not for one moment. I was always looking toward the horizon, always wondering what waited across the next ocean, over the next mountain. But I think … I think that whole time, all those centuries, I was just looking for you.”

For more Rowan read the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.

I can't believe we are in September already!! This month the boy that has us swooning left and right is: James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser aka "Jamie" from Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Holy smokes, I am totally head over heals for Jamie. He is primitive and rough, yet sweet and gentle. The things he says make me melt on the spot.

For more Jamie check out the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon!

Swoony Boy of the Month - Will from the Beautiful Bastard series

Swoony Boy of the Month is our new feature where we spotlight a favorite and/or swoony boy from the books we have read.

To celebrate our return from hiatus, I wanted to bring out one of my favorite book boyfriend, Will Sumner. Will won me over from the other Christina Lauren hotties by being a player who knows when to put himself together for the right girl. He's sweet, nerdy, and loves to pranks on his best buddies. Let's meet Will.

“See, the problem with boobs is if you have big ones, you can never look thin. You get these burns on your shoulders from bra straps, and your back hurts. And unless you're using them for their intended purpose, they're always in the way."
"In the way of what? My hands, My face? Don't you blaspheme in here." He looked up to the sky. "She didn't mean it, Lord. Promise.”
― Christina LaurenBeautiful Player
“Ben,” Max said, leaning back in his chair with a giant grin. “It’s finally happened.”
I groaned, resting my head on my hand.
“You got your period?” Bennett asked. “Congratulations.”
“No, you twat,” Max said, laughing. “I’m talking about Will. He’s gone arse over tits for a girl.”
― Christina Lauren, Beautiful Player

“Hanna, I don't know if I've ever wanted something more than I want you.”
― Christina Lauren, Beautiful Player
“It wasn't just a physical attraction between us. Of course I'd been attracted to women before. But there was something more with Hanna, some chemistry in our blood, something between us that snapped and crackled, that made me always want just a little more than I should take. She offered her friendship, I wanted her body. She offered her body, I wanted to hijack her thoughts. She offered her thoughts, I wanted her heart”
― Christina Lauren, Beautiful Player
Source
“I’m nervous all of a sudden, and I feel just like you’re mine only for these little bits of time. I guess I don’t like that as much as I thought I would.”
He slid his finger under my chin and tilted my face up so I had to look at him. His mouth pressed against mine, once, before he told me, “I’ll be yours every second if that’s what you want. You just have to tell me.”
― Christina Lauren, Beautiful Player
“There is no way to mess this up,” I said, right against her mouth. “Even if we didn't get married tomorrow, you're the love of my life. I'm with you until we both die, at the same time, when I am one hundred and you are ninety three.”
Christina Lauren, Beautiful Boss
Source
“What do you want to do tonight?” she asked.
I shrugged, running my fingers up through the soft tangle of her hair.
“This. Be married. Maybe put on a movie. Order some dinner. Go to bed and fuck for a while.”
“Can I switch up the order of that a little?” she asked, fingers sliding just under the waistband of my boxers.”
― Christina Lauren, Beautiful Boss
“Will laughed and shook his head. “We’re married, Hanna,” he said, and it sounded like he was still marveling at it, too . . .
“Say, I was wondering what you were doing in this tuxedo.” I wrapped his tie around my fist and tugged on it, bringing him closer. “Unless you’re just a really, really snappy dresser. But then, you have this ring on your finger, too . . .”
“I want to be sweet with you,” he said, palm curving over my shoulder and slipping down between my breasts. There was a weight there, a pressure to his touch I could feel even through the thin layers of fabric. Despite the softness in his voice, it screamed of possession, of lust. “I feel like I should be sweet tonight.”
― Christina Lauren, Beautiful Boss

Sa-woonnnsss! Will Sumner everybody!

Swoony Boy of the Month: Ben from November 9

Swoony Boy of the Month is our new feature where we spotlight a favorite swoony boy from the books we have read.

For this month swoony boy we are gushing about, Benton James Kessler in November 9 by Colleen Hoover. Ben won us over with his sweet book talk and his selflessness.

“She’s startled by my words. I think she expected me to let her go without a fight, but she’s not the kind of girl you choose your battles for. She’s the kind of girl you fight to the death for.”
“But for the first time, I don’t feel like the English language has developed enough letters in the alphabet to adequately express the words I want to say to you.”
“Because when you love someone, you owe it to them to help them be the best version of themselves that they can be. And as much as it crushes me to admit this, the best version of you doesn’t include me.”~Colleen Hoover, November 9

“And I’m in love with her. Like, really in love with her. Crippling, debilitating, paralyzing love. So please accept my sincerest apologies, because she’s coming home with me tonight. I hope. I pray.”
“All I care about is you. Being with you every day. Seeing you every day. I’m not finished falling in love with you yet.”
“A body is simply a package for the true gifts inside. And you are full of gifts. Selflessness, kindness, compassion. All the things that matter. Youth and beauty fade. Human decency doesn't.”~Colleen Hoover, November 9
“Sometimes at night, I’ll rewrite conversations I had during the day, but I’ll change them up to reflect everything I wish I could have said in the moment. So I just want you to know that tonight when I write this conversation down on paper, I’ll say something really heroic and it’ll make you feel really good about your life.”

*Swoons* Ben is such a sweetheart! What do you think? Tell us about your favorite Swoony Boy.

Swoony Boy of the Month - Ansel from Sweet Filthy Boy

Swoony Boy of the Month is our new feature where we spotlight a favorite swoony boy from the books we have read.

For this month swoony boy we are going French. Ansel Guillaume in Sweet Filthy Boy by the awesome writing duo Christina Lauren. Ansel sold us with his accent and the way he fell head over heels in love with Mia. Let's swoons on Ansel.

“He’s the guy who’ll do a ridiculous robot dance to make you laugh, who’ll lick the tip of your nose, make a fool out of himself for a smile. I’m sure if I tried to wrestle him to the ground, he’d let me win. And enjoy every minute.” - Christina Lauren, Sweet Filthy Boy

Source
“Mmpf. You’re so heavy. Do you have bricks in your pocket? Get off me.”
“But you’re so warm,” he whines. “And soft. And you smell so good. Like woman and sex and me.” - Christina Lauren, Sweet Filthy Boy

Source
“What you feel, Cerise? I feel it, too. Fuck, Mia, I feel everything for you.” - Christina Lauren, Sweet Filthy Boy

Source
“You just implied you’re banging me tonight.” His grin gets bigger as his hands snake around my waist.
“Play your cards right.”
“I forgot my cards … But I did bring my penis.” - Christina Lauren, Sweet Filthy Boy

Source
“I’m not sure I ever made a woman come with my mouth before I met you,” he admits. “I love kissing you there. And I love your ass, it’s perfect.” With this, I feel his length stir against my stomach as his hands squeeze me. “I like any kind of sex with you, but I prefer being on top of you . . . You make missionary feel dirty the way you grab and move under me.” - Christina Lauren, Sweet Filthy Boy

Sweet lord Ansel is one hot frenchman. Isn't he swoony??

Swoony Boy of the Month - Adam Wilde from If I Stay

Swoony Boy of the Month is our new feature where we spotlight a favorite and/or swoony boy from the books we have read.

For our first Swoony Boy, we are spotlighting one of the first swoony boy, Adam Wilde! Adam comes to us from Gayle Forman's If I Stay and Where She Went. He made us swoon with his lyrics, and his good looks. He also has one of the saddest lines in If I Stay and if you don't cry, you may have a heart made of stone. Let's meet Adam, shall we?
“This is the you I like. You definitely dressed sexier and are, you know, blond, and that's different. But the you who are tonight is the same you I was in love with yesterday, the same you I'll be in love with tomorrow. I love that you're fragile and tough, quiet and kick-ass. ” - Adam Wilde
― Gayle Forman, If I Stay
Source
“I want you to play me like a cello.” - Adam Wilde
― Gayle Forman, If I Stay
Source
“You don’t share me. You own me.”
― Gayle Forman, Where She Went
Source
“All I can think about is how fucked up it would be for your life to end here, now. I mean I know that your life if fucked up no matter what now, forever. And I'm not dumb enough to think that I can undo that, that anyone can. But I can't wrap my mind around the notion of you not getting old, having kids, going to Juilliard, getting to play that cello in front of a huge audience, so that they can get the chills the way I do every time I see you pick up your bow, every time I see you smile at me.” - Adam Wilde
― Gayle Forman, If I Stay
“If you stay, I'll do whatever you want. I'll quit the band, go with you to New York. But if you need me to go away, I'll do that, too. I was talking to Liz and she said maybe coming back to your old life would be too painful, that maybe it'd be easier for you to erase us. And that would suck, but I'd do it. I can lose you like that if I don't lose you today. I'll let you go. If you stay.” - Adam Wilde
― Gayle Forman, If I Stay

Source
“Please Mia," he implores. "Don't make me write a song.” - Adam Wilde
― Gayle Forman, If I Stay
Source
“But I'd do it again. I know that now. I'd make that promise a thousand times over and lose her a thousand times over to have heard her play last night or to see her in the morning sunlight. Or even without that. Just to know that she's somewhere out there. Alive.” - Adam Wilde
― Gayle Forman, Where She Went
Ugh. His line, "Please Mia, don't make me write a song" kills me even four years after I first read the book. If you haven't already read this book, I implore you to do so because Gayle Forman knows how to bring the feels and with this book plus Adam will just give you a punch in the gut.
