For today list, it the new-to-me authors that we read in 2013:

Jenn's pick:

1. Sarah J. Maas - this author has become a favorite of mine ever since I picked up Throne of Glass this past summer. It quickly became one of my favorite series and I'm so excited to see where she takes it. I need book 3 now, though.

2. Rainbow Rowell - After Fangirl and Eleanor & Park, she is going to be on my go-to-author for 'The Feels'.

3. Suzanne Young - I read The Program, The Treatment, and Just Like Fate which she coauthored with Cat Patrick. And they all ended up being favorites books of 2013.

4. Trish Doller - Where the Stars Still Shine was such an lovely and painful read that I'm kicking myself for not picking up more of Trish's book earlier.

5. Gennifer Albin - Her book Crewel and Altered are so unique and it has made an impression on me.

6. Robyn Schneider - The Beginning of Everything is just plain lovely.

7. Jill Shalvis - Simply Irresistible (Luck Harbor #1)

8. Wendy Higgins - Sweet Evil and Sweet Peril. Kaiden Rowe, that's all I'm saying.

9. Cora Carmack - Losing It and Garrick. Hot and British Garrick, yes please!

        I'd been hesitant to start this book but once I heard that Gennifer Albin was doing the Fierce Reads Spring 2013 Tour and was stopping in Miami, I had to start it. Once I got over my initial "what the hell is happening?" confusion that always overtakes me when starting a new book, I was sucked in and finished within the week. I haven't read anything quite like it. The plot is so unique and I'm so curious about the world of Arras and how the Guild works. I found myself so immersed into what was happening to Adelice and beyond, that I realized I was reaching the final chapter fairly quickly.

I found Adelice, the main character, to be an okay heroine. I like her but there's something that just stops me from loving her. However, I am curious to see how she fairs with the Guild. My only complaint is that there seems to be a bit of a love triangle. We all know that love triangles is one of the kisses of death for a book for me and it a very hated tool used in books that I wish weren't around so often. So, there is a hint of a love triangle but not really at the same time. But I can overlook it since it not all the book is focused on.

Crewel has such a unique story line and world and I can't wait to start Altered, which I got at BEA back in May. With the way Crewel ended, and it was very good, I'm curious to see what the repercussions of Adelice's actions will be.

1. Allegiant by Veronica Roth - Duh.

2. Just One Year by Gayle Forman - I need this book already. I loved Just One Day

3. Beautiful Bombshell by Christina Lauren - It a crazy world I'm living in that I haven't read this already considering I own it.

4. Beautiful Player by Christina Lauren - I need this book as well.

5. Beautiful Beginning by Christina Lauren - ok I might be cheating but they're all being released within a month of each other!

6. Altered by Gennifer Albin - I've had the ARC of this book for a while but I can't wait to finally dig in.

7. Inhuman by Kat Falls - I got the ARC as well as an egalley so I can't wait to read.

8. Countdown by Michelle Rowen - I have the egalley and I can't wait to dig in.

9. I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter - I've already started this for fun but other blogging obligations have stopped me but I know I'll finish this before the end of the year.

10. Parasite by Mira Grant - this is one of the book I'm most excited about, aside from Allegian, Just One Year, Altered, and Beautiful Player.

I went to Spring Into the Future signing with Anna Carey, Cynthia Hand, Tahereh Mafi and Veronica Rossi. I already had the pleasure of meeting Tahereh and Veronica last year so meeting Anna and especially Cynthia was so awesome. I flail all over Cynthia and even made a fool of myself but I couldn't care less. Since I had mailed my copy of Unravel Me to Stacee, I asked Tahereh to deface my copy. *sigh* I'm a Warner girl through and through.
