Summary (from Goodreads): "When tragedy strikes Michele Windsor's world, she is forced to uproot her life and move across the country to New York City, to live with the wealthy, aristocratic grandparents she's never met. In their old Fifth Avenue mansion filled with a century's worth of family secrets, Michele discovers a diary that hurtles her back in time to the year 1910. There, in the midst of the glamorous Gilded Age, Michele meets the young man with striking blue eyes who has haunted her dreams all her life - a man she always wished was real, but never imagined could actually exist. And she finds herself falling for him, into an otherworldly, time-crossed romance.
Michele is soon leading a double life, struggling to balance her contemporary high school world with her escapes into the past. But when she stumbles upon a terrible discovery, she is propelled on a race through history to save the boy she loves - a quest that will determine the fate of both of their lives."

I first found out about this book from sale on BookCloseOuts.com and I decided to buy it. I added it to my Goodreads list without reading the synopsis and I ended up absolutely loving and adoring it. This book had me so wrapped up in its pages that there were moments that I did not want to be bothered because I was so immersed in it.
Michele Windsor lives a normal life with her mother. She loves her mother and friends, and she loves her life. She does not know her father since he abandoned her mother before she was born. After tragedy strikes Michele's family, she is forced to move in with grandparents in New York. She has never met them before, and therefore, she doesn't know what to expect from them.
I won't say too much about the plot because I can't seem to find a way to describe the story without giving away spoilers but Michele finds a way to travel through time. She finds true love in between the layers of time and also manage to help her ancestors in the past to figure out their future. She would do anything for the people she love to be happy and she is destined to change the course of things, to create a new future for herself and her family.

"It didn't matter to her whether she'd written anything brilliant. It just felt good to be able to write again."

"I'm waiting for you," he murmured, smiling a slow, familiar grin that seemed to hint at a secret between them.
And for the first time, Michele and the mirror reflection were in sync as they both whispered, "Me too."

The story is really captivating, well written and it is a fantastic love story that has no limits. We are given enough details for us to understand what is going on and not be out of the loop. This book was 'love at first page' for me and now I can't wait for the sequel to come out in winter 2013

descriptionAbout the Guest Reviewer
My name is Daisel, I am 24 years old. I recently started reading because of peer pressure (hehe) and since then I haven't been able to stop. Among the others hobbies that I have (mostly I like to lay in bed and listen to music), I discovered that I enjoy reading. It take me to places and relieves the stress of real life. I enjoy reading (mostly) everything. Also, I have a "thing" for the boys in the books *swoon* I have a long list of imaginary crushes.
