Awesome. If I had to describe Paranormalcy, I would have to say it is awesome. I've had this book on my to-read pile for over a year and it kept getting pushed down the list. After one of the bestie started reading it, she had me read the first page and right away, I loved Evie's voice.

I think Evie is a really refreshing main character. Her quick-wit and her sarcastic, take-no-nonsense attitude reminds me Sophie from the Hex Hall series. It had been a while since a character made me laugh and giggle out loud. I love the fact that she carries around a taser that she calls Tasey and it's decorated in pink with rhinestones. Fierce with a love for pink? We would be good BFFs.

"I sighed. I hate the vamp job. They think they're so suave. It's not enough for them to slaughter and eat you like a zombie would. No, they want it to be all sexy, too. And, trust me: vampires? Not. Sexy. I mean, sure, their glamours can be pretty hot, but the dry - as - bone corpse bodies shimmering underneath? Nothing attractive there."

Swoony Boy of the Month - Edward Cullen from the Twilight series

Hello lovelies!

I don't know about you guys, but when I'm reading a book, I like to have a nice hero to read about. Swoony boys make my world go round. And since this blog is called Books and Swoons, and I haven't brought the swoon and for that I feel terrible. So, I've decided to change that and I will now be doing a new feature where I will announce a swoony boy of the month.

I decided to bring the swoon with the character that first made me swoon: Edward Cullen.

Now, some people may not like the Twilight series and that's fine, but we can all admit that Edward Cullen definitely have his swoony moments. I'll share some of his best swoons.

I wanted to share that at the moment I am currently reading FanGirl by Angel Lawson. I've been following Angel for a while now so I'm super excited to read this new book from her. I picked up Crave because I was approved for Covet without knowing that Covet was the second book of the series. Reading the synopsis of Crave, I was intrigued. It seems to have a lot of the formula that many paranormal young adult novels have, such as vampires, witches and a good dose of cliches. I enjoyed reading this book. It was a fairly quick read and it was the type of book that, if needed, I could put it down and not be worried that I was in an "OMG MUST FIND OUT" part.

Savannah and Tristan's relationship was one the parts that I really like. They were so cute and sweet together and I was cheering them on the whole time. I found Tristan's best friend, Dylan, to be quite the bully and predictable. I knew he was going to do what he did and so it was one of the cliche moment that I wasn't impressed with.

There were times though that I found myself irritated by how much filler details there were and not more information that moved the plot forward. I feel like most of the action happened in the last 30% of the book, and while I know that there are two books remaining, there were parts that could have been edited out of the book. However, I will be reading the second book of the series and I'll be excited to see if there will be some answers to the questions.

Covet is set to be release on September 25, 2012.
