Insurgent by Veronica Roth. Now ever since Divergent came out last year, its popularity has grown rapidly so I don't feel the need to try to explain why I love Divergent and why I think you should go out and run (run, not walk) to your nearest bookstore and purchase it, as well as pre-order Insurgent. So I'll just say one word and be done with it: F O U R. There. I think Four may be one of my favorite male characters ever. The swoons, ZOMG, loved. It wasn't all about Four and the swoons but that one of the reasons I loved Divergent. It is not the main thing in the book. And I know I'm not alone in this. I even got my best friend into the series and now she is currently anxiously waiting for Insurgent's release with me. (I needed more company, you see. Sorry, friend.) I need to know what will happen next. What will happen to Tris and Four and everyone else and the factions?
Next on the list is Being Friends with Boys by Terra Elan McVoy. Now, I have not read any of McVoy's other novels, so I can't really say anything about it. But having read the book's synopsis, it's definitely something right up my alley. Also, there seems to be a lot of good reviews for the novel and I'm looking forward to reading this book.
*Side note: Both Insurgent and Being Friends with Boys comes out the first of May.*
A few month later, Shadows by Ilsa J. Bick comes out. Shadows is the sequel to Ashes (see review here) and I can't wait to see what happens next with Alex, Ellie and Tom, so I'll be sitting here waiting for it. *waves*
Another author whose novels I have not read yet is C.J. Redwine. Her novel Defiance is out later this year and I'm going into this on a blind recommendation from a few Twitter friends. I trust those ladies, so if they say to *I HAVE TO READ* this book, I will.
*Both Shadows and Defiance are tentatively out in September*
Last on the list, but not far from everyone's mind, is Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor. For those that don't know, Days of Blood and Starlight is the second book of the Daughter of Smoke and Bones series. I was hesitant to read Daughter of Smoke and Bones (DoSaB) but decided it wouldn't hurt to see what all the fuss was about and OMG, so good! Karou is a kick-ass character, I love Zuzana and wouldn't mind having her as a friend and Akiva? Oh how I swooned. Swooned! With that cliffhanger, I can't wait to see where Days of Blood and Starlight picks up.
*Days of Blood and Starlight is tentatively out in November.*
That it for the upcoming releases that I'm anxiously waiting for but nothing is set in stone. Who knows, maybe I'll add something else to the list as the year progress.
Yea I totally agree four is the most swoon worthy character that I've read! I also like the strength that the protagonist Trish has:) Now I anxiously await the release of Insurgent to get my next fix.... I can't wait!
